Accessibility Statement
Last updated: July 23, 2026
Global Securities News (“GSN,” “we,” “us”) is committed to making globalsecuritiesnews.com usable by the widest possible range of readers, including people with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive disabilities. Accessibility is a core part of how we design, build, and edit this site — not a one-time checklist we complete and set aside.
Our conformance target
We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA across our site. WCAG 2.1 AA is a widely recognized standard for web accessibility, covering how content is perceived, operated, understood, and made compatible with assistive technologies such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and speech-input software.
We treat this as an ongoing goal rather than a finished project. Our site changes constantly — new articles, new layouts, new features — and we review accessibility as part of that regular work, not as a single audit that, once passed, is never revisited. As standards, technology, and our own site evolve, we expect our approach to accessibility to evolve with them.
Accessibility features built into this site
We have built the following features into globalsecuritiesnews.com:
- Semantic HTML landmarks. Pages use proper HTML structure — headers, navigation regions, main content areas, and footers — so that assistive technology can identify and jump between sections of a page.
- Skip-to-content link. A “skip to content” link is available at the top of every page, letting keyboard and screen-reader users bypass repeated navigation and go straight to the article or page content.
- Full keyboard operability. Every interactive element on the site — including the mega-menu that organizes our regional and country navigation, and the language switcher — can be operated using a keyboard alone, without requiring a mouse or touch input.
- Visible focus indicators. As you tab through links, menus, and buttons, a visible focus outline shows exactly where keyboard focus is, so you always know which element is active.
- Descriptive alt text on images. Images, charts, and photos carry descriptive alternative text so screen-reader users receive a meaningful description of visual content rather than a filename or nothing at all.
- Sufficient color contrast. Text and background color combinations are chosen to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios, so text remains readable for users with low vision or color-vision deficiencies.
- Responsive, resizable text. Layouts are responsive and text can be resized or reflowed using browser zoom or text-size settings, without loss of content or function, across phone, tablet, and desktop screens.
- Right-to-left (RTL) layout support. For readers of our Arabic-language regional coverage, the site supports right-to-left text direction and mirrored layouts so navigation and reading order feel natural.
Third-party content we do not fully control
Like most news publishers, GSN relies on third-party services for parts of the page: display advertising served through Google Ad Manager, and native content-recommendation widgets (the “you may also like” or “around the web” panels shown at the end of articles). See our Advertising Disclosure for more detail on these formats.
These third-party elements are built and operated by outside companies, and we cannot guarantee that every ad creative or recommendation widget fully meets WCAG 2.1 AA. Where we identify accessibility problems in third-party embeds, we raise them with our advertising and technology partners and press for improvements. We also work to limit how much these embeds can disrupt keyboard navigation or screen-reader use of the surrounding editorial page, even when we do not control their internal code.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some pages or features may not yet be fully accessible. This can happen with older archived articles, embedded third-party media, or newly launched features that have not yet completed accessibility review. We are actively working to identify and correct these gaps as we find them.
Reporting an accessibility barrier
If you encounter a barrier while using globalsecuritiesnews.com — a page that doesn’t work with your screen reader, a control you can’t reach by keyboard, text you can’t resize, or anything else that gets in your way — please tell us. We want to know about it.
Contact our editorial team at editors@globalsecuritiesnews.com with:
- The web address (URL) of the page where you ran into the problem.
- A short description of the issue and, if possible, the browser, device, or assistive technology you were using.
- Your contact details, in case we need to follow up for clarification.
You can also reach us through our Contact page. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports promptly and to work toward a fix on a reasonable timeline, prioritizing barriers that block access to core content and navigation.
