Advertising Disclosure

Global Securities News (“GSN,” “we,” “our”) is supported in part by advertising. This page explains the different types of paid and promotional content that may appear on our site, how each one is labeled, and who is responsible for what you see in it. Our goal is that no reader ever has to guess whether something on GSN is independent journalism or a paid message.
Third-party display advertising
GSN displays advertising served through Google Ad Manager in standard placements across the site, including:
- Leaderboard banners (typically at the top or bottom of a page)
- Sidebar units alongside article content
- In-article placements inserted between paragraphs of a story
These ad units are automated: the specific ad shown to any given reader is selected by Google’s ad-serving system and its network of advertisers, not chosen or written by GSN’s editorial staff. Ad placements are set off visually from our articles (borders, background shading, and/or spacing) and are labeled “Advertisement” so they are not mistaken for content produced by GSN.
Native content-recommendation widgets
At the end of many articles, GSN includes a native content-recommendation widget (in the style of services such as Outbrain or Taboola) presenting links under headings like “You may also like” or “Around the web.” These widgets recommend a mix of other GSN articles and sponsored links from third-party advertisers, based on algorithms operated by our recommendation-widget partner. Sponsored links within these widgets are marked “Promoted Content” (or similarly labeled by the widget provider) to distinguish them from links to GSN’s own articles.
We do not control third-party ad content
GSN does not write, edit, or pre-approve the creative content, claims, or offers made within third-party display ads or native recommendation widgets described above. These are supplied directly by advertisers, ad networks, and recommendation-widget operators. As a result:
- We are not responsible for the accuracy of claims made in third-party ads, nor for the products, services, or companies they promote.
- The appearance of an ad or a promoted link on GSN is not an endorsement by GSN of the advertiser, its products, or its services.
- We require our advertising and recommendation-widget partners to follow applicable advertising standards and platform policies (including rules against deceptive or misleading claims), and we act on credible reports of ads that appear to violate them, but we cannot pre-screen every ad served through automated networks.
If you rely on information found in a third-party advertisement, you do so at your own discretion. As always, GSN provides news and information only — never personalized investment, legal, or tax advice — and that applies equally to anything you see in a paid placement.
How this differs from sponsored articles and affiliate links
Third-party advertising is only one of several ways paid or commercial relationships can intersect with content on GSN. To help you tell them apart:
- Display ads and native recommendation widgets (this page) — automated, third-party-served ad units and “you may also like” links, labeled “Advertisement” or “Promoted Content.” GSN does not write these.
- Sponsored articles — full articles commissioned and paid for by a sponsor, always visibly labeled “Sponsored” at the top of the piece. These are produced in partnership with the sponsor and are held to disclosure standards described in our Paid Promotions Policy.
- Affiliate links — links within regular editorial articles that may earn GSN a commission if you click through and take an action (such as opening an account) with a financial product or service provider. These are explained in our Affiliate Disclosure.
All three are separate from GSN’s independent editorial coverage, which is produced by our editorial team without payment from the companies or subjects it covers. See our Editorial Standards & Corrections page for more on how we separate news judgment from commercial relationships.
Reporting a concern about an ad
If you see an advertisement or promoted link on GSN that appears to be misleading, offensive, malfunctioning (for example, an ad that redirects unexpectedly or auto-plays sound), or otherwise inappropriate, please tell us. Include the page URL where you saw the ad and, if possible, a screenshot or description of the ad itself, and send it to advertising@globalsecuritiesnews.com. We investigate reports and work with our ad and widget partners to remove or block ads that violate their platform standards or ours.
