Editorial Standards & Corrections
Last updated: July 23, 2026
Global Securities News (GSN) is a securities and markets news publication organized by continent and country. This page explains the editorial principles behind our reporting, how we handle sourcing and errors, and how readers can raise a concern about something we’ve published.
Editorial Independence
GSN’s newsroom operates independently of our advertising and sponsorship business. Advertisers, sponsors, and affiliate partners have no input into which stories we cover, how we report them, or what conclusions our reporting reaches. Commercial arrangements never influence editorial judgment.
Where GSN publishes paid or sponsored content, it is produced and labeled under a separate set of rules described in our Paid Promotions Policy, and is always visibly marked as “Sponsored” so readers can distinguish it from our independent news reporting. Our regular news articles are never sponsored, and sponsors do not review or approve independent news coverage of themselves or their competitors.
Original, Self-Authored Reporting
Articles published on GSN are original work, written and edited by our own staff. We do not republish wire copy or aggregate third-party news feeds and present them as our own reporting. When our reporting draws on external data, filings, statements, or prior reporting by other outlets, we attribute the source within the article.
Sourcing and Fact-Checking
We aim to hold our reporting to a consistent standard of accuracy:
- Material factual claims are checked against named or attributed sources — such as company filings and press releases, regulatory and exchange disclosures, official statements, and on-the-record comments — wherever such sourcing is available.
- Where a claim cannot be attributed to a named source, we say so, rather than presenting unsourced information as fact.
- We distinguish clearly between factual reporting and analysis or opinion. Where an article contains the writer’s or a contributor’s interpretation, outlook, or opinion, it is labeled as analysis, opinion, or commentary rather than presented as straight news.
- Numbers, dates, tickers, and figures are cross-checked against primary sources before publication where practicable.
Markets and regulatory situations can change quickly. We correct our understanding of events as new information becomes available, consistent with the corrections process below.
News and Information Only — Not Investment Advice
GSN publishes news and information about securities, markets, regulation, and companies. Nothing on this site constitutes individualized investment, legal, or tax advice, and no article should be read as a personal recommendation to buy, hold, or sell any security. Readers should consult a licensed, qualified professional before making financial decisions. This is also addressed in our Terms & Conditions.
Corrections Policy
We want our reporting to be accurate, and we correct errors when we find them or when they are brought to our attention.
- Minor corrections — such as typos, formatting issues, or small clarifications that do not affect the substance of a story — may be fixed without a separate notice.
- Significant corrections — changes that affect a material fact, figure, quote, or the substance of a story — are handled differently. When we make a significant correction:
- The article is updated with a visible “Updated” date-stamp reflecting when the correction was made.
- Where the correction is material to the reader’s understanding of the piece, a brief correction note is appended to the article explaining what was changed and why.
We do not silently alter the substance of published reporting. Our goal is that any reader revisiting a corrected article can see that it was corrected and understand what changed.
Requesting a Correction or Raising a Concern
If you believe something we’ve published contains an error, is unfair, or is missing important context, we want to hear from you. Please contact our editorial team at editors@globalsecuritiesnews.com, or use our Contact page, and include:
- A link to the article in question.
- The specific claim, figure, or statement you believe is incorrect.
- Supporting information or sources, where you have them, that support your concern.
We review correction requests and aim to respond in a reasonable timeframe. Not every request will result in a change, but every request is reviewed on its merits.
Conflicts of Interest
GSN staff and contributors are expected to avoid conflicts of interest that could compromise, or appear to compromise, the independence of our reporting. In practice, this means:
- Staff do not write or edit coverage of a specific security, company, or offering in a way that would benefit a personal financial position they hold in it.
- Staff are expected to disclose to their editor any personal financial holding that could reasonably be seen to create a conflict with an assignment, so that the assignment can be reassigned or the conflict otherwise managed.
- Staff do not accept payment, gifts, or other benefits from companies, issuers, or sources in exchange for favorable coverage.
These principles apply alongside, and do not replace, the disclosures made in our Paid Promotions Policy, Advertising Disclosure, and Affiliate Disclosure, which govern how commercial relationships are labeled for readers.
